Audi announced that it has launched a pilot program for its Audi On Demand carsharing service in the UK. The pilot will initially launch in Manchester with plans to expand to multiple cities before year's end — Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, Birmingham, and Newcastle.

Hong Kong-based bikesharing company, Hobabike announced that it plans to launch an electric carsharing business in the city. Initially, the fleet will consist of 500 electric cars. If the pilot is successful, Hobabike plans to expand into more fields.

The Australian fast-charging equipment provider, Tritium, unveiled a new station with a record capacity of ‘up to 475 kW’. The company, which is currently supplying some of the 350 kW ‘ultra-fast’ charging stations used in the Ionity charging network throughout Europe, described its new tech as a “unique HPC system, a scalable, flexible system for commercial operators.”

The New York City Council has approved legislation that will pause the issuing of new licenses for ride-hailing services like Uber and Lyft. The policy aims to give the city time to study the industry’s impact. In the interim, ride-hailing companies will only be able to add new vehicles if they’re wheelchair accessible. The legislation also allows the city to set a minimum wage for drivers.
